What Services Are Included?

The following services are included with Healthy San Francisco:

Preventive and Routine Care Specialty Care Urgent Care * Emergency Care * Ambulance Services ** Hospital Care *

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Care Laboratory Services and Tests Mental Health Care Family Planning Durable Medical Equipment Prescription Medicine

*  Only at hospitals in your Medical Home Network
**  Only for transportation for emergencies within San Francisco


The following services are not included (non-exclusive list):

Dental Services*** Acupuncture Allergy testing and injections Chiropractic Cosmetic Dental Gastric by-pass surgery and services

Genetic testing and counseling Infertility Long-term care Organ transplants Sexual reassignment surgery Non-emergency transportation Vision

*** Healthy San Francisco does not include dental services. But you can get limited, basic dental services at some clinics run by the San Francisco Department of Public Health.  Due to the large number of patients, it may take several weeks or months before you're able to get an appointment.  Call the City's general help line at 3-1-1 for more information on this and other services that are provided through the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Healthy San Francisco is not insurance. If you have insurance, do not drop it to join Healthy San Francisco. Insurance is always the better choice.
